ADORA
YIN

“Dream big and dare to fail.” As a Hong Kong student passionate about STEM and video production, Adora is committed to empowering youth through accessible education, with a focus on females and other minorities in the field of STEM.

My Story

When she was young, while her brother was encouraged to explore STEM classes and summer camps, she was steered toward music and art by her parents. Yet, deep inside, Adora felt a powerful calling to the world of science and technology. Undeterred by the initial disapproval, she started learning and researching on her own. Having to prove her worth in a field often overlooked for girls opened her eyes to the prevalent educational inequalities that many face. This ignited a commitment in her to ensure that every student, regardless of gender or background, has the opportunity to pursue their passions and use their voice.

Adora is a high school student at German Swiss International School and a part-time student at Stanford Online High School. Currently, she is pursuing IB Higher Level subjects in Mathematics AA, Computer Science, and Physics, alongside Standard Level courses in Anthropology, German, and English Literature. Her commitment to education extends beyond the classroom; she runs a YouTube channel where she shares captivating science and lifestyle videos, aimed to motivate and inspire her audience through knowledge which has achieved over 10k impressions. She also founded and leads her school’s UNICEF chapter, coding club, AI society, and CodeHers, an inter-school computer science community and event for 300+ girls. Furthermore, as her school’s head student and prefect, she strives to serve as a role model and inspire her peers with her passion and drive. She was invited to be a youth presenter and sole representative from Hong Kong at the UN Global Goals Week’s “Future of Equality” Forum.

In the future, Adora envisions a world where everyone has equal access to quality education and opportunities. By engaging with diverse perspectives and innovative ideas, she aims to develop scalable solutions that bridge educational gaps. Ultimately, she sees herself in a career that harnesses the power of technology and AI to tackle real-world challenges, drive meaningful change, and empower others to reach their fullest potential.
